A productive start to the day - he loves reading

We had a productive early start to the day. The first thing he wanted to do this morning was to read, even before breakfast!

I went to the Pearson book warehouse sale yesterday and bought a lot of books for him - some worksbooks and some story books. One of which is a book on trucks. It has large, clear, rich illustrations with few words. It rhymes too. It's not easy to find books on trucks that have rhyme.

We started off the morning reading the book "Trucks Roll". I read to him twice. Yet, he wanted to continue reading. So, we went on to a homemade book "Red".

After that, I logged on to ladybird's website for him to play a simple game on word recognition of simple sight words. I discovered it just last night. You can access it on http://www.ladybird.co.uk/adviceandresources/games/game-keywords.html

He didnt finish the game as he lost interest. He was more taken with the ladybird that was moving across the screen!

I switched on another computer based activity which is not directly related to reading. It's to do with visual stimulation, visual tracking & co-ordinating hand-eye movements. I'll do a separate post on that website another time.

All in all, we spent 1.5 hours from the time he woke up to the time he had breakfast on the activities above. A productive start to the day!
